Post subject:  H17 Replacement Parts Estimate

Hi, I recently saw a Hobie 17 for sale, and it's in pretty good condition. However, there's some parts that need some replacing-
-Tiller extension and the small parts to attach it to the crossbar
-possibly the whole trapping system
-maybe the shrouds and forestay (they look to be tangled and a little bent out of shape here and there)

To those who have done some replacing on their 17s, about how much do you think each of these would cost? Thanks.

The stock tiller extension w/ connector kit - about $150

Trapeze system (wires, handles, other bits) - about $150

Shrouds are $40 each; forestay assy (3 pieces) about $60.

Welcome to the world of "boat bucks" - where 1 Boat Buck = $100

And here I was thinking I could get parts for less than $250. Almost double my own estimate, but it's still not too bad. I hope I won't have to replace anything else...

Any preference as to where to get parts?

Murrays is a great online source. I've ordered from them for years. They are my first choice and stock many Hobie parts that my local dealer would have to order. NOTE: if you plan to race, stick with Hobie parts or you might not be class legal
