The mast base on the H17 is held in place by the mast rotator bolt and/or four rivets at the bottom of the mast. I believe the early models just used the rotator bolt, but then when Hobie introduced the 17 Sport, they added rivets to hold the mast base in since the Sport doesn't have a rotator. Anyway, remove the rotator bolt and rotator and/or drill out the rivets and the casting should pop out. If it's tight, you may need to use a block of wood and a hammer to knock it out. sm |
