Post subject:  Gooseneck

I have an older (1988) H17SE and the PO told me to change out the gooseneck out for a new (and improved) version. Does anyone have any insight on this?

The original 17 gooseneck had a round pin with a hole. The original pin was not flattened and a vertex was not used. In addition, the gooseneck in the mast base was allowed to move on a vertical axis. The old pin would connect directly to the gooseneck. Problem was they would bind and also scratch the crossbar.
