There was another fellow on this forum, who replaced this cracked cross-bar with a new one. The new bar developed a crack within months. Hobie replaced the bar for free, but to me, this proofs the bar suffers from a serious underdesign issue. In automotive industry, this type of issue would result with a recall. I understand, sailboats is much smaller business. But how about meeting us half way and offer a replacement "at-costs". The bar price I saw on line, looks like is full-priced and comparable with other similar replacement parts. At least, Hobie Co. should not not profit from its own design/manufacturing issues, IMHO. mmiller, care to comment?
