I hate when this happens.

We had a couple of 17's destroyed in a storm a couple of weeks ago, which kind of pained me. Then one of my old sailing buddies brought his 17 in for a new traveler track install. And since my first cat (a 17) was one sail number after his, it brings back a lot of memories...

And now I find out that one of our customers is probably wanting to sell a '97 17 Sport...

Do I keep it a secret and buy it myself, or help find it a good home? Would all my windsurfing gear be jealous? Would my wife hand me my butt for buying a boat?

Decisions, decisions...

BUY IT! I currently have a Hobie 18, 2 paddleboats, two sunfish style sailboats, a dingy, and a canoe. Next week I'm looking at a 20' powerboat on a trailer for $600, (needs a new interior).

I am truly an Admiral of my own fleet. :D

Get some underlings, a few cannons, you'll have the making of a nice navy. Even with out the cannons you might be able to take France with minimal if any loss's.

Heh, we have our own Hobie Shop of Horrors going on in one of our fleet member's yard. An '86 18, an '80 18 with Magnum wings, a 17, two 14's, and at least one 16...and sometimes others as well...

You mean like this?

Be careful. I've got a ton of these (all courtesy of my military buds and budettes).

And yes, I'm seriously thinking about how to get a Hobie 17 into my driveway along with all the other "schtuff".
