So the HCE boats don't have a comptip, do I still have to run a non-conductive tiller extension? rule 11.1 says yes, and I couldn't find anything contrary.

Mine's getting really wobbly.

This is how freakin' cabin fever stricken I've gotten. I'm down to just looking at my sailing stuff. Take it out, look at it, touch it, put it away. I hate winter. The ice probably won't be out for another five weeks at least. Last time I went out ice fishing it was 18"+, that was a couple of weeks ago. Probably closer to two feet by now. Did I mention it's supposed to be -12*F tonight? I'm even sick of my Playstation.

It was 66 degrees here today.

My mom (in far NW county of Iowa) says it's going to be 20-30 below zero tonite at her house.

My advice... Move south. The only ice we know about is what we use to make Margaritas.

(I have no idea about the stick rules... But am willing to bet common sense has nothing to do with it)

John,
The SlipKnot Regatta might be the first chance I get to sail this year. Everyone backed out on the trip to Texas. I decided Mid winters was just too expensive for me. The wind has been just wicked too. -40 windchills. YUCK!

I'm stuck here.

We are looking forward to 80 this weekend, but the water is still a bit cold for sailing, in the mid 60's!

I agree w/Dog, no clue about the stick, now margaritas that's a different story!

Karl, We also have a regatta in Lawton the week before Frayed Knot if you're interested. I could probably hook you up with a place to stay and you can drop your boat off in Kansas on the return trip. There won't be any FX-Ones, so you might want to bring a different boat. Or you could borrow my 16 if I race the 17.

Lawton is 856 miles from home. Lawrence is about as far as I think I'd go for a 2 day event. Monday's are usually a lesson on anger managment even with a full nights sleep. Image Thanks for the offer though.

Did you find out if you'll be taking that FXone for the Frayed/slipknot regatta? It would be kinda cool if you will be sailing that. It'd be the first time I've actually gotten to race another with mine. If not we'll have to trade for a race or two.

Trying to talk Dave with Action Marine in Wichita to race his FX in Clinton. Can't find anyone willing to charter their boat to me. If nothing else we'll race heads up as uni-rig and see how we compare.

Slipknot is getting close. I can't wait to get out of this (censored) house and go outside and sail and play tennis. I hate (censored) february. The only thing worse is (censored) March. It never (censored) ends.
Hey Dog, where's Mom live?
Hope you all are having a nice day. B-Rad, I hope you get sunburned in your 80 degrees.
Karl, I too want to kill everyone and everything this time of year. I am smart enough to have learned NOT to look at my sailing she-at this early. Its like gawking at hot girls. Sure you can look at it, but you can get it all wet and use and abuse it. You just can't.

CW- I wish I really would have used a different quote for the Profile. I don't know how many people would recognize a quote from Tyler Durden.

Here's some good news though. The guy who works for me just texted that the ice is 19-22" thick. We'll be dodging ice till mid june.
