Water trapped in the hulls...???

Post subject:  Water trapped in the hulls...???
I took my H17 apart over the weekend for major repairs. Among these repairs are crack and holes in the hulls, due to a L. Michigan storm event, and also my best friend towing my boat under a tree with the mast up event.

So... After taking everything apart, I decided to tip the hulls up to drain any remaining water. Nothing.

If I pick up the bow of one of the hulls and rotate, I can hear water sloshing inside. No matter which direction I tip the hull, I cannot get any water to drip out. Where is this water I am hearing???

Water could be trapped in hull between floation blocks. Try turning hull upside down, then stand up on stern.

I'm pretty sure I tried that, but I'll give it another go tonight.

There are hollow fiberglass structures that support the wing tubes inside the hull . You can see one of them in the photo below, taken through a deck access port.

You probably had a hole in the bottom of the wing tube that allowed water into the support structure. I don't believe there are any drains for those.

If the hole is still in the bottom of the wing tube, you can turn the hull upside down and let it drip out, or go through the deck (access port) and drill a small drain hole in the bottom of the support, being careful not to drill through the hull.

This is another reason to be religious about not letting water sit in the wing sockets over winter.
