I recently bought a H14 Turbo that needed some hardware. By the time I bought and paid for the stuff from a Hobie Dealer the cost of the hardware exceeded the price of the entire boat! I believe in supporting the "goose that laid the golden egg" but this is getting ridiculous! I need a sail, some battens, and other hardware, but mostly a sail and battens. Anybody out there got any sources for sails and hardware other than registered dealers (I apologize dealers), Ebay, and Thebeachcats.com? Thx! Broke

The classifieds located on this site are a great source for used parts. Check out your local Craigslist and E-bay too.

I FOUND OUT THE HARD WAY THAT THE E BAY ADS ARE ALOT OF TIMES EITHER DEALERS OR SMALL BOAT MARINAS DUMPING USED EQUIPMENT ON THE MARKET AND MAKING IT LOOK LIKE PRIVATE OWNERS. IF IT IS TWICE AS MUCH AS YOU WOULD PAY A REGULAR BLOKE JUST CLEANING THE GARAGE. I LOOK FOR BOATS THAT ARE WAY GONE AND BREAK THEM DOWN FOR PARTS. I HAVE SAVED TWENTY YRS OF SPARE PARTS IN A BOX. JUST GO DOWN TO WEST MARINE AND SEE WHAT I MEAN. A SIMPLE SHACKLE- 35.00 JUST CALL UP THE GUY AND ASK THEM ARE THEY PRIVATE SELLERS. OTHERWISE YOU WILL GET RIPPED. SK
