Installed an afemarket (Murrays) cable style d striker on my old '77 14

Had no instructions for it and thusly no idea what sort of tension should b applied to the eye bolt nuts... don't want to blow her up!

Kudos to the INDEX!!!

New to it but Hobies since '82!!

Thoughts?

The tension needs to support loads but not bend the crossbar more. Just make it snug.

That's what I thought...

So tighter for say a skipper who was 200# or snug for all loads?

Not as much related to crew load, more related to compression of the mast down onto the crossbar. The wire or rod will not stretch much if at all. It just has to keep the crossbar from bending.
