So I trapped out 1st time (singlehanded) on the turbo yesterday in 2-3 foot swells and 10-15kts breeze... WOW, flew off the fronts of the swells... the little boat was SCREAMING along... I was amazed... the boat is tight and solid and just pushed PUSHED PUSHED faster and faster.. way cool.

But I need help w/the technique.
1. what configuration do you use for the sheets if tiller is under the right arm?

- traveller sheet in which hand ? (continuous sheet w/main...)
- main sheet in which hand ?
- what about the jib sheet ?

I kept trying to get this sorted out... THANKS MUCH !

Jib sheet- Laying on the tramp
Traveler sheet- laying on the tramp, sometimes dragging behind the boat(not good)
Main sheet - in the hand that isn't running the tiller
tiller- in the hand that isn't running the main sheet.

I main adjustments to the traveler and jib when I was tacking, or if something just had to be changed I would head up and pinch, come in off the wire adjust, and get back on the wire.

I used to keep the mainsheet in the opposite hand that I kept the tiller until too many times I either snag the mainsheet in the trap wire or trap inside of the hook. Now I prefer to hold the tiller and mainsheet in the same hand until I have trapped out, then switch the mainsheet into my opposite hand. Even in very gusting winds, my timing is much better and trapping is smoother.
