I presume thats Rand? R25000 is over $3500 in my Aus money, and thats an insane price. Way high, no matter how good the boat. Never seen anyone pay over AUS$2000 and good 14s are AUS$1000. The 6:1 is probably a bit heavy for a 14, I used a 5:1 with no issues. I guess hes trying to recover the cost of the fat head sail? You would want absolutely perfect hulls for that. Look underneath, and make sure there is NO wear at all. Cheack for soft spots too. And pretty much no fading. Has it got the newer shape hulls?

Well I did once see an H14 with assymetric hulls.

Geoff, Hobieandy is referring to the fact that all Hobie 14's have asymmetric hulls. The Hobie Wave, also 14' in length, could be considered to have symmetric hulls. I'm still iffy about that.
