Post subject: | Hobie 14 halyard question |
I have been given an unassembled old 14 and I am stuck on how to run the halyard through the top mast assembly. This is the old style assembly and the shackles on the end of the halyard won't go through. Is there a retrofit halyard with ends that come off to allow threading through the top assembly? |

The all aluminum masts require that the thimble be installed after passing the wire through the mast head sheave. You could cut the wire and install another thimble and swedge. The replacement halyard wires come with the required parts. |
