Anybody have information as to what that number signifies?

Hull number 7271

But seriously, it puts it at about '72. It's one of the last to have the number on the pylons.

Hi all, new to the forum and to habie cats. Can't find a hull # on mine, looks like it got painted over some time ago. I do have a California registration paper from 1986 that shows it to be a 1972 with a hull # of SS21. That can't be right, can it?

It's probably "5521"

Look on the front pylons just below the corner casting.

I just pulled a H14 out of the backyard that has been sitting and awaiting refurb for about 10 years. My dad and I picked it up (with trailer) from a coworker for cheap.

There is no ID on the transom locations, but '2180' is stamped into the forward pylon posts..

Can anyone tell me what year this boat is? I am sure it sounds like a pre '73 serial #.

Thanks,

caveman

That's an old one - probably '69 / '70.

NADA only has values for these boats back to 1971.

What was the first year of production?

mid-1967 was when production started on the 14.

The highest pylon number I've seen/heard of is about 6000.

On boats as old as yours, the NADA is worthless. A lot depends on how the boat was stored / used over its life. Some boats that old are in great shape, although they tend to be a little heavy. Others should have been put to the scrap heap a long time ago.
