I had a 71 VW Van for a while and you are exactly right. Nothing in front. I really realized that after spending the summer on a 20!

That is great! I guess it's from being elevated as well. The difference between the 18 & 16, looking across the front crossbar, is a shock, I can only imagine the feeling of "something is missing" on the 14.

The other odd thing about the 14 going to weather in a breeze while trapping from the rear corner casting is that the entire lea hull will go under water and then pop back up. This caused me some anxiety until I got used to it. What do you guys think we can do to get more 14's at a NAC. Have it before the 16's,17's or other? Maybe we should start a new post.

MidWest Venue????  We have better than 14 14s in div 7 that would sail if its relatively local, but travel is a problem for most of them. We drove out to Syracuse in '04 and that was fun, wish there would be more boats traveling.
I understand there are a bunch of 14s down in OK, KS and TX too.

OK, Should it be a 3 day event before a 5 day like we did in Syracuse?
Finding the boats is a good start. How far would those guys travel to a 3 day event?

Problem is, alot of them are 20 sailors and a few 18 guys too and they go to that National first and foremost, so the 14 thing is an afterthought.
Hard to say, I would assume we could get 4-6 to travel somewhere. I can't image a longer than 3 days on a 14 though
