I tried to search for this and couldn't find the answer I was looking for...

I'm having issues with getting hooked in on my trapeze. I had it originally set where I would have to get up on my knees to get the dog bone on my harness. When I got out on the wire I was in a comfortable position. It was very hard to get hooked and keep sailing though. This weekend I adjusted it to where I could hook in while sitting down, but ran into 2 problems. 1 the was so tight I could hardly pull the dog bone down and 2 when I got out on the wire I was almost in the water. I ended up staying on the boat that trip out. Any tips on this are much appreciated.

You are doing the right thing. Its all trial and error with trapping out. Try both rope lock settings you mentioned but using both the upper and lower dog bone holes to fine tune. I usually sit on the side rail with the rope lock adjusted so that I can lift my butt a couple inches and lock into the top hole of the dog bone.

Maybe a tighter harness. The harness, if loose, would hang you lower. I always get the harness really tight. You should be able to hook while seated.
