My H14 Turbo is new to me this season. My boat has a nylon cleat on the mast about four feet up from the step base and offset to the port side. Anyone know what this is for? I started using it to limit halyard slap when the boat is secured on the beach. Not sure that is its intended purpose though. |

The stock halyard cleat location is centered in the front, not quite as high as that. If it's the only cleat on the mast, that's what it's for. |

Yeah, I have the jam cleat up front. I guess somebody added the other....probably for just what I'm using it as a mid-point stay to keep the halyard from banging all night and keeping folks awake. Just wanted to make sure it had no factory purpose. |
