Does anyone have any good ideas for replacing hiking straps without removing the trampoline? My tramp is in good shape, but no longer has hiking straps. I weigh about 220 and don't really need them, but would feel more comfy in heavier wind with something to secure myself to the boat. Any suggestions?

If all else fails, I'll pull the tramp off the boat and steal... err borrow my mother-in-law's sewing machine.

Earl Dame at Tampa Bay Catamarans makes an aftermarket tramp and can probably fix your hiking straps for you. He makes an adjustable strap that I think you add to your existing tramp no problem.
There is a link on www.thebeachcats.com

I was going through the exact same thing with my 84 H-14T, i am 215lbs.
What i did is i went to Walmart and got a Tie-Down Replacement Strap for a trailer's winch (<$10). http://www.northerntool.com/webapp/wcs/ ... 5514_55514

THen i used 6 alum revits and 12 washers (on each strap) and revited the straps to the trampoline having the washers on both sides of the tramp.
I also put a little 1 inch square of the strap on the inside of the washers so the washers wouldnt hold on directly to the tramp.
It works great! Just make sure that the Revits hardly fit in the washers so when the revit pop it would actually hold on to the washers.

Let me know if you have any questions.

I saw another post and picture on another forum (I believe it was Catsailor) where a guy put three grommets per side; fore, middle and aft in the tramp and simply ran a rope out of the first hole then to the second where he knotted it underneath and then back out and to the third grommet hole. He knotted it under the fore and aft holes so it formed a strap. Then he wrapped some foam (that is used for insulating water pipes) tubes on it for comfort and to hold ithe rope off the deck to slip your feet under.

Do a search at www.catsailor.com
