Pitch pole: to drive the boat hard enough to cause the leward bow go under (Just a little) Causing the boat dive like a submarine, usally just stopping quickly and usally just pops back up. Worst case (rare) to tumble ass over bow. Not a good thing.

Windward: the side of the boat which the wind is hitting.

Leward: the other side.

Down haul: system that pulls the sail down at the mast.

Out haul: system on boom to pull the sail away from mast.

Down haul: system to pull boom down, usally runs from base of mast to mid boom.

You haven't Pitchpoled until the mast hits the water.
A good pitchpole involves flying people and sending the rudders over the bow tangs going downwind.

If we are talking about terms to someone not accustomed to cats, who wants to explain "Tea Bagging." 8) I personally enjoyed the experience, but I digress.

One more thing to watch out for is "turtleing," which is always a good time to get close to the Lord.....as in "God, if you help me out of this, I promise I will not push her this hard again" ".....or is that just me :?:

Oh yeah, its called a boom for a reason, that's the sound it makes when it hits you in the head.. :x BOOM

John
The weather is here, wish you were beautiful

A H14 is easy to right from the turtle. You just stand on the stern of one of the hulls, it will sink and rotate the boat on to its side, then you right as normal.

A 16 is easy to right also, but that didn't stop me from praying on my first "dive".....about a mile out.....alone.....

MAN I miss that boat

I think I may have to make an extra 10K this spring and go get a new one.
Yeah, I wish!!

"Teabagging" is when after a long day of racing, you fall asleep in your chair with a beer in your hand and your buddy drops his pants and ......nevermind.
