Hi

I have to finish a repair to one of my hulls either by using a wax/gelcoat mixture of repainting the whole hull with International Perfection or a similar two pot poly paint. I have previously used this very successfully on my cruising catamarans and find it harder than the original gelcoat preventing water take up and giving better protection against knocks.

I would welcome any comments on the advisability of doing this. I am aware of the concern in some quarters that a paint job is hiding defects and wonder if painting it takes it outside the class parameters

Thanks
