Picked up a new mast for my 14 and noticed some rain water dripping out of it (has been sitting outside for about a year). The mast was not unusually heavy and did not have a ton of water in it, but I noticed that some of the previous owner's sealing has deteriorated and it's time to re-seal.

Two questions: Can I/Should I remove the old silicone seal? What is the best product to use when re-sealing?

I'm also new to the comptip...other than rivets at the top, base, and mast tang, where it this mast likely to leak?

I've attached a few pics, thanks!
