Should I buy or run from this Hobie 14?

Greetings all, I am new here so please let me know if I missed anything. I am new to the dual hull world and am looking to get a Hobie for casual fresh water use. My current ride is a Sunfish. There is a 1979 14' Hobie in my neck of the woods for about $600. It does have the spongy hull issue just in front of the tramp. Serial is CCMB8144M791. A few minor tears in the sail and the boom vang is missing. Is this enough for me to walk? If so, WHY is the delaminating hull such a key issue. Thanks in advance for all your help. Seems a little steep to me for an old boat with softspots/delam and torn sails.

It would have to come with a pretty sweet trailer.

Sorry, no trailer. Just the boat, sans a boom vang.

So from what I understand the soft spots mean the hulls could eventually snap or break. Why does the weak spot in the top of the hulls lead to a hull eventually breaking? Exactly what about it causes the weakening? Thank you, I am just trying to understand it better. Cheers!

Also, from what I understand the these 70s hulls don't sit well in water for long periods of time? Is it just because the drain hole in the hull may have a leaky gasket and will eventually let water in? Or is it more than that? Thank you.

this is what happens with soft spots

it makes the hulls very weak.
the missing boom vang is fine because you dont need it, but you need down haul.
i think its too much for a old boat.
