Has anyone seen Wings for a Hobie 14' ?
I have been looking for sometime and have never found anything that was close to being good. I have put together a prototype to see what would be involved and was wondering if anyone else would be interested ? If so, I'll see what the costs would be to have then made. The version I am working on now requires no changes to the standard Hobie configuration, no holes to drill, no add-on brackets that wrap around the existing structure.

If anyone knows of a pre-made set I'd be interested in finding out where I could buy a set.

Not recommended on the 14 unless maybe you are REALLY light weight. You would simply sink the bows harder.

So basically ; to be able to do that on the H14 we would need a different hull design with more bouyancy at the bow ? Is this correct ?
I assume the getaway has such hulls, hence the greater payload available on that design.
Please correct me if I 'm wrong. Still new to all this and trying to learn and understand the factors involved.

Correct.

When we added wings to the Hobie 18 (Large hulls) the sailing characteristics changed in a similar way... you could easily stuff the bows as though sailing a Hobie 16! The 14 has VERY small hulls and can not handle too much more weight / power. Best sailed at closer to 150 lb crew and hiking. Although guys do trapeze from the 14... standing WAY aft.
