Hello hobies. I am new in my HC14 and are learning trim + rig to know. On my first trips I have noticed that it luff much into the wind if I do not constantly pull the rudder. Why is that I wonder? Mast Tilt (too much back)? Rudder angle? Something entirely else? Pt. I do not use the foresail, but I have one (new from fwd-sails). Will I have to adjust mast rake depending on whether there is a jib on or not?

Are your rudders locked down properly? Sailing with the rudders partially kicked up is the most common cause of excessive rudder helm. If your rudders are locked down properly and you still have too much helm, then you either need to rake the rudders forward or rake the mast forward or both.

Ok. I have an issue with the rudders. I just bought new locks but haven't mounted them yet. That will be my first fix, then mast rake and then more rudder trim.

How will rig tension affect this problem? I think I can tighten more.
