I would replace both. New castings are matched shapes. We updated them in 2004. More beef at the stops. Better contact surface angles for more mast rake.

Step for the H14 depends on age of the boat. Newer ones may have a Dolphin Striker? The step would be drilled for the post.

20200011 H16 / H14 Turbo Step Casting (drilled and tapped / threaded)

10170011 H14 no striker Step Casting

10640011 H14 Mast Base

If I wanted the option to make it into a Turbo (in the future) - I should go with the 16 with the hole for the Dolphin then?

thank you

There is a casting post and cable-type conversion kit for that. Upgrading to the Post and striker rod would be problematic...

I'd go the original step and then add the conversion kit which rivets a casting type post below the step. Then a cable runs from side to side.
