Mast Lowering Technique

My new mast raising technique is great but it doesn't work in reverse for lowering the mast safely. I'm planning to do some solo sailing and I'm wondering how people get the mast down solo ?

Junojim's technique of putting the boat over on one side sounds good, if there's a safe way to balance the boat while unclipping the top shroud and lowering the mast to the ground.

pull the pin and yell TIMBER, JK
Run your main halyard to your bow tang and shackle it. Pull the halyard tight and cleat if off on the mast, this will act as your forestay. unpin the forestay, get on the tramp, apply forward pressure to the mast, un cleat the halyard and lower. Hope this helps I am sure someone will have some more advice.

1.) Pin the hinge to the mast and the base.
2.) Stand on the tramp and reach forward and remove the ring from the pin through the chain plate and put it in your pocket.
3.) Hold the mast with one hand and kinda lean against it. Reach forward and pull the pin out of the forestay chainplate with your other hand. Put the pin in your pocket.
4.) Lower mast.

This whole flipping the boat on it's side seems kinda silly. The mast only weighs like 30 lbs. How do you get the boat to balance on it's side without the mast? What happens when it falls?
