Looking for a 14 hobie new or near new (new like even) Main sail. Old dealer stock, someone who bought one, but not used much, whatever......but my daughter insists on a new main for her 14 and you know how she can be!
Color or white, whatever.

Be aware of the difference between the 5 and 6 batten sails. The 6 batten has more power and is the current production version. This is available from a Hobie dealer. White is in stock. 10990010 $682.50 Colors are available via special order.

I would prefer the 6 batten sail. I bought a New Sublime a year or so ago for my Son, and now the daughter wants one too. I was just hoping for someone who may have had a new one of old stock or whatever sitting on a shelf for less than the new new one.
Thanks for the help

If you don't want to pay for a new Hobie main sail (although this is a Hobie sponsored forum and they can have some pretty cool colors-just $700 is more than I paid for my boat but I guess its now worth less than my boat is) you can get an aftermarket one from several companys (Murrays) for less-more like $400-$500 instead. I have two old mains that are only five battens-next year I hope to buy a brand new 6 batten main for more speed. Finding a like new 14 sail isn't going to be easy so if your on a budget I would consider the aftermarkets (I have one and it is just as good as the stock one I have). Just be glad they aren't $3,000 racing jibs-the big boat I race on has a set of $17,000 kevlar reinforced north racing sails!

I have been looking at SuperSail Makers, and Calvert has a mylar Square top that is SOOOO cool, but tons of money. I was half thinking about adding a spinnaker kit (similar to the Hobie 16 one, only homemade) to my 14 and making it a monster truck.
I have a friend who found a NEW set of Poche sails at a dealer and got a pretty good price, so I was just hoping........
