MI - Is a cat beach near South Haven? Maybe a spot to rent?

Hello,

I will be moving soon to South Haven, MI in the next month or so. This is great because I will be right near Lake Michigan next summer, but I am a little mixed because the only place I know of to launch anywhere nearby is all the way to Weko beach.

Does anyone know of a place I can rent room on the beach or have any suggestions how I might be able to get out near South Haven without a big trip on the highway?

There doesnt look like there is a big following out in the South Haven area, but I thought I would try to stir this topic up again.

I was out looking for an apartment in South Haven and I saw a Hobie 16 parked near North Beach with sand all over it and beach wheels on the trailer.

If someone here happens to own that boat or has any advice on how to deal with the trailer and finding a place to launch on either South or North beach I would really appreciate it! As far as I can tell the entire beach is either private, or a swim area so I have no idea where I would take the boat.

It must be possible but I just don't see how to do it.
