We will be camping at Campland and will be bringing our two H16's -

What are some good sail destinations from the Campland beach?

Any comments as to do's and don'ts of sailing Mission Bay?

Sail on over to "Sail" bay to get away from the speed boat traffic. You can also sail out the channel to the Ocean. Most days are very easy sailing down there. Or just sail to the mouth of the channel to get a feel.

You can sail to near the Roller Coaster and walk over to clubs and restaurants in that area.

Wanted to ask about anyone’s experience bringing at beach cat to Campland. I’ll be staying there two nights this weekend and debating on bringing my H16. Called and they said I would have to trailer it at night for $10/day. Also said I need insurance which is $65 so trying to decide if it’s worth it. Can I leave the boat beached during the day there? Any power lines or anything that would prevent me from leaving the mast up while driving between parking area and the ramp? Thanks!

I camped there many years ago around Thanksgiving and they let me leave my boat on the beach. I was also able to roll my boat back to the camp site on beach wheels with the mast up on the last day, but I did have to watch out for trees. The muck in the water once you leave the beach is shockingly thick and deep. There were some indications that the beach can get really crowded, with a sign that said something like "No placing of shade tents or chairs on the beach before 5:00AM" or something like that.
