Hi all,

You may have seen my postings on this going back to 2009 about going around Vancouver Island on a Hobie 21 SE. I've decided to scrap the idea of putting on an event, choosing instead to just take a few weeks and go do it.

The moon, tides and long daylight hours make departing on June 30th the perfect window. At this time, I'm planning on taking 9 days but may leave a full 2 weeks to enjoy the ride. I've done years of homework, have loaded up on Spots, satellite phones, VHF, multiple GPS's and a host of other safety strategies.

Route is here: http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?msid=203 ... ,10.777588

I have a spare Hobie 21 SE up here if anyone wanted to use it. You may need to review some of the standing rigging but it looks great to me. Please email me outlining your level of experience and we can talk. Barring that, if you have a big fast cat like an I20 and wanted to join us, then give me a shout.

What a great sounding trip! Have you gone? If so, how did it go? I'm in Portland (OR) sailing a 21SE. I'd love to join you up there sometime.

I'm thinking about sailing a few days around the San Juans the first week of August.
