Has anyone sailed in the Caloosahatchee River by Ionia? I will be staying in Cape Coral for two weeks in March and plan on taking my Getaway along. We were looking at sailing in the river south of Cape Coral. Does anyone have any information on sailing there?

Check with these folks.
They are at the north side of the 41 bridge.

MIDWEST TRAILER SAILING SQUADRON (our sailing club) is heading to Caya Costa Fl. March 14, 15 & 16 to met up with a sailboat gathering. Maybe you can join in. :D

Thanks for the invite Bill, but we will be leaving on the 14th. We will be docking the boat near the Cape Coral Yacht Club and would appreciate any information you can give on sailing in the river in that area. Places to go, avoid, etc. especially places to sail with good wind but not a lot of chop/boat traffic. Thanks!

Dave,
I might be able to come down to Florida early and spend the month of March sailing around that area.I need to finish up some contract work and get paid before I can leave. I do have one of mine Hobie 16 for sale (see Craigslist Indianapolis,IN) and if I sale it soon enough, I will spend more time sailing Florida's west coast. I am thinking of starting off from Harbor Island in Tampa Bay and sailing south until ? Cuba..... just kidding.........

I do sail on Lake Michigan off of Weko Beach in Bridgman MI the weekend after Labor Day with a good group (the Promise Breakers). And I like to sail Lake Erie too.

Good Day Bill
