Greetings!
I'm moving to the area this summer from New England, I have a H16 and am looking to trailer it down when I relocate. If anyone has some experience sailing the area or know of a good place to launch from or leave the rig on the beach somewhere I would appreciate the local knowledge! thanks guys

did you find a spot in J'ville to sail? I lived there from 2000-2005 but I didn't have much luck finding a place to beach my H18 so I sold it... I think there was a beach slip area in St. Augustine and also the Rudder Club on the St. Johns river but they were pricey... I miss florida but I sail in Maryland now. Good luck!

Thanks and enjoy MD! my hulls haven't made it to the beach yet but i did spot another H16 tooling around in the vicinity north of the Jax pier. I missed it but the wife said she spotted the guy drive his trailer onto the beach and load it up. After a little driving around i did find the the beach launch at 8th ave North. the local beach regulation websites are a little contradictory about it. saying you can launch jet ski's and catamarans but you cannot drive onto the beach...

sorry I haven't checked this forum in a while... I hope you get out there... I've been out on the Chesapeake bay a few times this summer. I think residents are allowed to keep hobies on the beach sometime, I see them on the beach all the time when I visit Tampa... Maybe you could leave notes on some of the boats you see on the beach and ask for them to contact you if they have a way you could keep yours there.
