There's a small band of dedicated Hobie sailors that sail in the Peel and Harvey Estuaries which are located some 50 miles south of Fremantle in Western Australia ( The place that Alan Bond took the " Cup " back to after he took it off Dennis Conner ) - ( who then took it back ! )

Our Estuaries comprise of the Peel ( which is circular and 12 miles in diameter ) and is connected to the Harvey ( which is sausage shaped , 15 miles long and 3 miles wide ) and there are two entrances to the Ocean ( one of which is spanned a bridge which has a clearence of 74 feet )

So there you have it , two large estuaries and the ocean that can be navigated between each at will giving us fast estuary sailing and surfing in the Indian Ocean all on the same day if you wish and a meditranean type climate that has an 8 month summer and doesn't freeze in winter .

Cheers ,
Barry Sanders .
