Hi - I just got a Hobie 16 and will be sailing in in Monterey Bay, CA. Are there Hobie sailors in the area that can help? Where do I launch in Monterey?
Thanks,
Brian

First time out I would launch at Warf #2 next to Monterey Bay Kayaks, the parking is not cheap, but with beach wheels it's a painless launch from a protected beach. When your ready to step it up the ramps at Moss Landing and Santa Cruz are good choices.

Brian,
And I thought I was the only guy in Monterey with a Hobie Cat...Next to warf two is a good choice (it's way easier to rig up and launch there than at the Coast Guard pier). Just watch out for all the homeless vagrants, I had one mess with my boat and try to steal some beers. Other than that it's a great spot. Hopefully I'll see you out this weekend

Never launched from Moss, but sailing in Santa Cruz is pretty fun and you can store your boat up there on the beach for $50/month...

America!
