I have an Outfitter. The portside rudder line is getting damaged around the area where it rubs against the stainless steel nut. Anyone encountered this problem? If it is normal wear and tear how do you minimize the wear?

I have a picture, but I do not know how to post it.

I thought about inserting the damaged rudder line into 130# Hollow spectra fishing line to reinforce it. I have worked with splicing spectra for heavy tackle use, and I have an idea how to do it. But maybe someone out there has a better solution to this problem.
