Post subject:  Crushed Ridge on Port Pontoon

I recently found a Hobie 16 (in ND, this is a BIG deal) that I could afford. The only problem is some delamination in the ridge on the outside edge of the port pontoon between the tramp supports. I think it was left banging into a dock for too long. I've looked for suggestions, but I've never seen anyone asking about this particular place.

It takes on water so I'm trying to fix it. Getting replacement parts up here is a 9-hour round trip minimum (to the best of my knowledge). Can we just fiberglass over the whole length of the trouble in order to seal it? I'm really not concerned with its appearance or high-end performance. I just want to learn how to sail something bigger than a wind surf rig.

Picts of the damage:

Any help would be appreciated,
AK

Hey Aaron,

I'd say that that's kind of a big deal. All of the pressure from the shrouds ends up on that lip of the hull. It looks pretty delammed, and I wouldn't trust it. Keep looking, I'd say...
