Any tips on replacement material for Hobie hull cradles?
Our club's cradle covers are shot! I was wondering if there is a specific replacement or if I could go to Home Depot or the like and get some indoor/outdoor carpet.

Thanks Much,
Dave

I replaced the carpet on my trailer cradles, they're the same thing. Lowe's carried two grades of astro-turf, I went with the better quality for a couple bucks more. I cut out square sections that I knew would be a little bigger than I needed to cover the interior of the cradle. I covered the carpet and the cradel with liberal coats contact cement (DAP Weldwood Gel Formula, red can with a black stripe at the top). Then with a little pulling, I was able to get the material on and around the curved edges of the cradle without leaving any wrinkles. Then I rolled a heavy piece of steel pipe over it to press it down. After it was dried and cured, I used a carpet knife to trim the excess carpet off the edges. Looks great. Good luck.
