I have a soft spot to fix and I certainly appreciate all the info here about what to do and how but... I'm wondering about Git-Rot brand versus other epoxy mixes.

I can certainly do better from a price point on a thin 2-part epoxy with 30+ minute working time- so, is there anything really superior about Git-Rot (brand)?

Also, and related, is there a general way to calculate based on the area of the soft spot on top of the hull how much epoxy I need- since it has a finite shelf life?
I imagine it would be related to the density of holes drilled into the top hull layer- 1 hole/sq.in., per 4 sq.in, etc. and what drilling pattern is adequate for an acceptable repair?

Thanks for your input!

Penetration, viscosity, hardness when cured (not too hard), bonding strength, easy application... All good with Git-Rot
