Just a tip. If you have rust spots on your sails. Try to get your hands on some oxalic acid. It neutralizes rust and actually makes the rust disappear! Its amazing! And, its harmless to your sails and skin. Just don't drink the stuff!

Anyway, here in Florida, I guess the well water has high mineral content and rusts something in the concrete driveways around here. Well, Home Depot sells a product that removes the rust from driveways. I forget the name of it, but the main ingredient is Oxalic Acid. Its like 5 or 6 bucks a gallon. I used it, a few years back and it worked wonders!

A couple of great products that have Oxalic acid in them:

FSR and Magica. Both shown on page 41 of the 2006 catalog.

I, being the cheapest guy there is, buy 'Barkeepers Friend' at Walmart for $1.99 a can, use a soft brush, bucket of warm water and the oxalaic acid in the product clean the boat up perfectly. Funny thing is, I read that somewhere, asked my wife if she had ever heard of it, she opens up the under-the-sink cabinet handed a can to me and said that if I ever helped out cleaning around the house........blah blah blah

If you cannot find a container that says Oxalic Acid then pick up some Wood Bleach from your local hardware store. It is all Oxalic Acid. But you do not want to get it on your hands it is not harmless. I use Nytrile gloves when I play with it.

Oxalic Acid... yep, acid. It etches away the gelcoat, so be careful. Use lots of water and wear gloves and eye protection.

You will need to wax after you treat as you open up the gelcoat. If not, the brown color from algae will stain your newly cleaned boat in no time at all.
