Post subject:  H16 Material replacement for non-skid texture?

So I'm going to be repainting my boat, and since this will require sanding and the smoothing out of the current non skid surface on the top decks, I'm looking into ways of resurfacing it. I've read the "This Old Hobie" article in the Hobie Hotline but honestly, making molds of the current surface and then applying them to the new gelcoat just seems like too much of a pain in the butt and I'm just too lazy.

I read somewhere that I could mix sand in with the gelcoat and then apply it to the area I want to resurface to be grippy, but that will result in an (I think) ugly finish. I was thinking that maybe I could apply some sort of rubberish fabric or textured material to where the old non skid was, kinda like the same material that was used on the front portion of the hulls on this amazing looking H17
I'm planning on painting the boat bright yellow so I think that the black material for the non skid would look awesome. I was hoping that you guys could tell me:
1. Is this even a good idea?
2. What is that material called and where can I get it?

Thanks a lot,

Take a look at hydro-turf and softdeck.com

Thanks for the quick reply
Those look real nice, however I thought they would be much cheaper. 80 bucks for a 40"x62" sheet? Covering the entire area of the non skid on the decks would surely cost upwards of 400 dollars! Is there anything cheaper out there?

Thanks
