The Hobie Toy Box (H16) does not come with hasps or any hardware to lock it with. Does anyone have any photos or ideas on how they attached a hasp or other locking device to their Hobie Toy Box? Thanks. AE |

Put a hasp on either side of the rear cap and two on the forward lid. It works great on mine. Buy a set of four keyed alike locks so you only have to carry one key. |

Anyone have pictures of a locked toy box? This is on my project list this week. |

Also, does anyone know how to get another end cap for the Toy box? |

We don't have a locking system. |

I swear I took some pictures but I haven't been able to find them. You need to lock the top opening and the rear/main opening. I put two hasps on the top opening and two on the rear/main opening. They aren't anywhere near 100% secure but I like to think that they deter someone from messing with it. On the top one I put one hasp on each side. One the rear/main one I put two hasps on the bottom left and right outside edges. As for hardware, I would suggest some kind of backing block because screws will easily pull out of the plastic. I've considered doing away with the hasps and dropping a metal bar through the rear opening and locking on both sides of the bar. I've seen this on many sail tubes and it is the simplest and most effective method. |

I appreciate the info guys. Just a visual person so pictures and such help. Next time up at the farm I'll take a good look at the toy box and go from there I guess. If someone would like a good condition toy box though and make me a good offer... it just might be yours. |

Being a visual person I took some pictures to share the set up with others thinking of doing the same. I have the parts list of what I used from lowes if anyone wants it. Feeding my sailing addiction via tapatalk. |

Looks good. You could rivet the hinges too if you were really worried about security. Although it's still soft plastic. It wouldn't stop someone who really wanted your sails. |
