Im looking to buy a hobie 16 . The seller has notified me that it needs possible fiber glass work on the bottom of the hulls, possibly from being pulled onto a beach. Is there any chance that this could cause problem with delamination in its current state. Is there a foam core on the bottom of the hull?

There is no foam core on the keel of the hulls. The foam sandwich starts about 4 inches up from the egde. Delamination is usualy found on the decks not hulls. From what the seller is saying the keels have worn off and may need a couple of strips/layers of cloth/mat, fairing and gelcoat. No biggie if us like/enjoy like me, working on fiberglass and know how to do it....You will also need the equipment and time.

Most used hobies have this problem as most get beach launched all their lives...
