 Post subject: Mast Head Repair

My mast head got ripped off cracking the comptip. Does anyone know a good way to repair this?

Simple repair would be to redrill rivets in new locations.

I was told to cut off just below the torn holes with a hacksaw. I then sanded it flat, drilled new rivet holes. Removed the bobber as well.
