Hopefully this isn't too late for your repair, but I had two soft spots on my hulls and I used git rot on one of them and went with the cheaper West Marine brand of penetrating epoxy and it worked just as well.....it's also cheaper! Best of luck!

Use the git rot. It is well established that it works, and it is not that expensive when you compare it to a hull failure. Spend the extra few dollars and do it right.

used both on one of my hulls in two different spots....the west marine was cheaper and easier to work with and it's just as hard as the git rot repair i did!
