What techniques and success have you had with righting a Getaway; any single handed? I saw GPratt's interesting righting pole. Comments. Do you use those spring lines under the tramp? What about the effectiveness of the Righting Bucket? Today, I found out that when it gets loose from the tramp webbing and falls in the water it acts as a great drag brake. :(

at 210 pounds i can do it easily on my own with the stock strap setup. climbing up towards the stern of the hull is a big help due to the shape of the keel built into the hull. this "keel" also acts like a big shelf to stand on and makes it easy to grab the strap and lean back. i always move quickly to let out the main and get the boat upright before too much sail gets down under the water.
