What is proper Mast Rake?

My getaway mast rake leans backward and I was wanting to know which hole do you have your pins in on the sides and in the front.

I pin it with four holes showing above the jib furling hardware unit in heavy or medium wind as this makes a decent rake. in light wind i pin it tighter with 3 holes showing to pull the mast forward more. probably does not make too much difference, but you can see it where the sheet blocks come together. with 3 holes showing they don't get too close, with 4 showing the blocks get within 2-3 inches of each other. that's about as far back as you would be able to rake without custom gear. boats differ so find what setting gets your blocks close together and this should work well enough in most conditions. at least that's what i have found to work.

I intend to increase my rake this year to try and increase the weather helm, hopefully that will allow the boat to point higher.
