I am thinking about buying a Getaway and it will be kept at our cottage on a lake. There is no beach and there is a 3-4' drop to the water at the shoreline. What are my options for storing the Getaway next to my dock. I know I could buy a used ShoreStation boat lift but that is likely overkill for a 400# boat.

We sail on the Potomac River near Washington DC and use a one-ton lift to put our Getaway into the water. Yes, it is overkill but it works. There is a ramp available. My daughter doesn't see why we don't just back our trailer into the water but I'd like to keep the sailbox dry.

We were first at our marina to have a Getaway but now there are about 6 there.
