I just purchased a new Getaway. When I got to lake to sail I realized it is missing some parts. This was the first sale for the dealer and I don't think he really know what's going on. There is nothing to attach the head of the jib to the ?????. It is just floating on the forestay. Also missing jib downhaul. I made both of these out of rope but I know there must be something more formal at the head. Manual shows no pictures that are helpful. What holds the jib at the head? |

I am going from memory and may be a bit off but I believe the bottom of the sail is attached with a shackle and the top of the sails uses rope, I will see what I can do to verify this for you tomorrow. The line on the top of the jib simply runs thru the timbale at the end of the forestay making several passes from the grommet and the timbale and tying off.
