I'll have to try it from the wings using your method. I did not want to shorten the trap wire for fear of messing it up or deciding that I did not like trapping off the wings. Once they are cut, there is no going back. Thought about adding a wire grip to hook onto further up the wire. Not sure that's a good idea either

I'm not sure how much wire you need to remove to use the wings, but if you do cut the wires too short, you can just lengthen the rope or move the ropelock back a bit. There is also the double adjustable trapeze kit which requires that you remove about 8" of wire to install. (part number 1204 on page 8 of our catalog)

Who's going to post the photos of trapping on the wings?

The Halifax, NS dealer has 2 on his photo gallery:

Picture # 4, 5, 6 and 9 of this album:

I did not embed the images because they are way too f'n big. I also don't own the copyright to those images, so prefer to link to the image owner's gallery.

OK just got a trap kit and not sure in what hole of the mast tang I should secure them in. The bottom one that is holding the Forestay and shrouds? the big one in the middle, or the one on top? I have not found any thing on the hobie web site nor were there any thing in the kit?
Thanks

Both top and middle. You need the right size horseshoe shackle. The horseshoe goes through the big hole Then each wire goes on each side of the horseshoe/tang. You pass and screw the pin through the upper hole. Doesn't work if the shackle is too big... or too small. You can also put the trap lines on the big shackle where all the other wires go. I actually use both attachment points as i have 2 trap lines per side....
