A friend has a Hobie 16 and has never used his trapeze. He said he would give it to me providing it could be used on my Getaway? Would they be compatible? |

Close, but different length wires. The H16 wire is 2 1/8" longer... It will work, but could place the handle a little low. We like the handle at 32" off the rail you trap from for best function getting out and back in. You lift your weight from the handle. |

Thanks Matt... Forgot to mention that the Getaway has wings- How would effect the trapeze experience? |

We don't recommend trap use on the wings due to the possibility they could telescope in while in use... would require another 1-2 feet of shortening if you did try. |

I understand... Don't want any 'trapeze malfunctions'! |

Bob, go ahead and add the traps. I got a Getaway set when I got my getaway that has wings and shortened them and also got the harken adjusters and coated wire rings with handle to hook into. I like them, work fine, if you are worried about wings folding in tape the pins holding them in place. i don't bother. just set everything up the way you want as far as actual length before cutting wire and recrimping with nicopress sleeves doug |
