thanks matt. i have read your warning about mooring in several locations, but it just seems odd to me. the getaway, as with other hobies, uses high quality parts that are similar if not better than may other sailboats. there are millions of sailboats rigged and floating for seasons or full years and there's never any warning about not keeping those boats moored/on the water. what is different about a hobie cat that makes it not advisable to keep it in the water? i just can't seem to think of any part - other than the mast ball/base - that would be any different than other boats.
